1. Medical License

Your Sim must take a medical exam for a Medical License in order to open a private practice. He needs to be at least on level 8 of the doctor career (Medical Specialist) for being able to participating on the exam. It is also vital for your Sim to have good charisma, logic and writing skills. If you think that your Sim is well prepared, you can use the phone to attend the exam (there will be a processing fee). In the case your Sim has managed to pass the test and obtained his Medical License, he can calmly quit his career (if he wishes that). Being a doctor at the hospital and at a practice can be a bit stressy.

2. Billing Approval (optional)

Now that your Sim has the actual license, he should inform himself about his future duties and payment via computer. It is recommended to take also billing approval tests. It is not necessary, unless you want to earn money with ultrasound, X-Ray, ECG-Stress-Tests and surgery. But you can also attend the exams later (after opening your practice).

3. Register Practice

The next step is obvious: Register your practice at the "Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians". You need to activate the "Private Practice" lot trait first, which is only possible on residents and retail venues. Staff a computer on a front desk. And voilá - a new practice is born!

3. Essential Objects

Apart from the "Private Practice" lot trait and a front desk, you should obviously buy an exam table and optional Xray and a Stress-ECG-Treadmill. You also need a glove dispenser, since there are some examinations like "Swab Sample" and "Blood Sample" that require sterile hands. Nurses

Nurses check in patients and take care of the bureaucracy. They will make appointments with patients autonomously, when they staff the front desk and clean your practice, when you ask them kindly.

Housekeeper

A Housekeeper is responsible for sustaining a sterile environment by cleaning rooms, making beds and maintaining floors. Making coffee, washing dishes and taking care of flowers are also important tasks. You can also order them to cook.

Nobody wants being treated by a doctor with poor clinical competence. Therefore, it is vital for your doctor Sim to develop his competence.

Acceptable

You are more careful during examinations, so that they will succeed with a greater chance.

Solid

Patients will give you a second chance after a wrong treatment and your temporal mindsets, received by Medical Training Courses, will now last for 1 week. Differential Diagnosis is available.

Professional

This grants faster sample analysis and examination (Xray). Temporal mindsets, received by Medical Training Courses, last for 2 weeks.

Expert

Can earn money with own Medical Training Courses. All temporal mindsets last for 4 weeks.

In order for patients to appear in front of your brand new practice, you must staff your front desk (by yourself or your nurse). The better your image, the more patients will come. All actions you perform on your patients will affect your practice image. It is recommended to greet all patients before you harshly start performing examinations on them. But don't let them wait too long!
